A cross-disciplinary approach to meet today’s challenges and those of the future.

The diverse expertise that resides within the PRiME community enables us to bring together our researchers to address long term challenges in precision medicine while also advancing short-term research breakthroughs.

Current initiatives within PRiME are described below.

2026 PRiME Fellowship Program

An inter-disciplinary initiative that is cross-cutting to University of Toronto divisions, academic hospitals and partner institutions. The 2026 PRiME Fellowship program will support one-year Fellowships for senior PhD or clinical fellows (who must have completed 36 months as of December 31, 2025), and postdoctoral fellows (who must have completed all requirements of their doctorate or health professional degree no more than 4 years prior, as of December 31, 2025). Our Fellowship program aims to invest in bold, innovative ideas and support high-risk, high-reward research projects that are aligned with PRiME’s mandate.

Building a Biotech Venture

Take your first steps toward entrepreneurship with the Building a Biotech Venture program. Regenerative or precision medicine-focused trainee teams at the University of Toronto and its affiliated hospitals learn from industry experts to develop their venture concepts, create a pitch deck and business canvas, and set milestones for building their company.

Connaught Global Challenge

With support from the University of Toronto through the Connaught Fund, PRiME has joined with research institutions around the world to bring together global perspectives to address healthcare challenges in Precision Medicine.

Next-Generation Precision Medicine Collaborative Specializaton

This program is designed to encourage cross-disciplinary training and collaboration across diverse departments at the University of Toronto.
